Hall Sensor Technology:

A Hall effect sensor is a transducer that varies its output voltage in response to changes in magnetic fields. Hall sensors are used for proximity switching, positioning, speed detection and current sensing applications.

How do Hall Effect sensors work?

When the magnetic field is introduced to conductive material, the carriers (electrons or holes, depending on the material) will be affected by the Lorenz force. Their path will be slightly curved. The carriers will be forced to gather on one side of the material, while the same number of opposite charged carriers gather on the other side of the material. This gathering of charges on both sides will generate a slight potential difference, the Hall voltage.
